Word Chase in After Effects

At uni I worked on several projects with After Effects.  The best of these projects consisted of the more simple ideas.  Word chase was my first venture into After Effects.  As with anything the first time I used it everything took longer.  It is only after finishingt this piece that faster methods and new shortcuts make themselves known.   For this piece I only used still images and animated them in After Effects.  At this time this method was one of my favourite way of creating animation.

Using words and letters to describe actions and follow dialogue have been used extensively in the creative world.  (There was a huge boom of this method in the past).  This technique was used everywhere, ranging from small YouTube experiments to songs, advertisements, etc.

Some examples of this type of work include:
Spaceballs – When Will Then Be Now (Typo Animation)
Citizen Cope – Let The Drummer Kick (AFX)

Here is my video of Word Chase! Enjoy!
